Rendition

Year: 2007

Why'd I Watch It?: Gyllenhaal Fest.

What's It About?: A CIA guy who is somewhere in the Middle East overseeing the interrogation of an Egyptian with possible ties to an active terrorist/suicide bombing leader while the suspects wife travels to D.C. trying to find out what happened to her husband.

What'd I Think?: Basic omf-Bush-was-bad/our-foreign-policy-is-screwed movie. Focused around two intertwined events instead of like 7 that get all garbled and not well handled and end up seeming like a bad product of socio-political commentary and an episode of Boomtown. I did appreciate that. Still, it might have been even better if they had just done the one with the Egyptian guy, but I suppose the other with the girl gives the movie heart instead of it being Pretty Much Everyone's a Dick: The Revenge of Reese Witherspoon's Chin.

Rating: 3 1/2 waffles
